Inspired founder Glen Bell was determined to create his version of the greatest Crunchy Taco. In 1962, he opened the first Taco Bell in Downey, California. His customers fondly referred to his Crunchy Tacos as “Tay-Kohs.” Taco Bell continued to experience steady sales, and the company began franchising in 1964. Just six years later, it went public with 325 restaurants. Fast forward to the present, Taco Bell is serving over 2 billion customers a year in more than 7,200 locations worldwide. Fred Olivieri Construction Company built our first Taco Bell in the 1980’s and has since built over a dozen. The work we do for Taco Bell includes a much different building design, and these are tight, 12-week construction schedules. Our efficiency and attention to detail as a fast-food contractor during the planning period is why our company can be a successful general contractor in the quick serve restaurant industry.
